WORK PACKAGES: Soil enzymatic activities

The enzymatic activity will be measured on the same peat samples collected for task 4 (depth 4-13 cm) at peak biomass: phenol oxidases involved in the degradation of phenos, beta-glucosidase involved in cellulose degradation, phosphatase involved in release of P from organic matter, and chitinase involved in degradation of chitine. In addition, also the activity of the fluorescein diacetate hydrolysis (FDA) will be assessed so to have a total measure of soil enzymatic activity.
